Explore Banned Books.
I see Google has launched yet another new type of search facility. It is launched in conjunction with Banned Books Week (September 23rd-30th).
As it says on the Google site “It’s hard to imagine a world without these extraordinary literary classics, but every year there are hundreds of attempts to remove great books from libraries and schools.”
A visit to the Google book search site for Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China by Jung Chang returns over 700 listings.
” Wild Swans tells nothing less than the whole tumultuous history of China’s tragic twentieth century, from sword-bearing warlords to Chairman Mao, from the Manchu Empire to the Cultural Revolution. At times terrifying, at times astonishing, always deeply moving”
Now I wonder if this works inside China?
